My sister just renewed her kids passports and she got them back quite quick. Did you send them by recorded delivery?

The processing time they say is now six weeks. Even though you send them to Washington they are then sent to the UK for processing and then returned from the UK by DHL. Any supporting documents or old passports are then returned under seperate cover around one week later from Washington. If you call the Washington phone number you will listen to a long recorded message which gives you a UK number at the very end to contact, if you do call the UK number they wont talk to you unless you give them a credit card which they charge by the minute. I am sure you will receive them shortly.
